This is my finished self portrait using charcoal pastels. I was able to show proportionate facial features  and use different vales from white to black.  I have a contrasting back ground and created shadow affect on the right side of my face.

In my self portrait I am able to show correct proportions and show the three dimensional figure of a head. I use correct lighting with shading to show different values and use a pencil to draw without smudging to show texture or face and hair.

This is drawing is a landscape drawing using oil pastels. This image looks like a majestic mountain in a field behind newly built apartments. The media is with oil pastels. A new skill I learned doing thus project is how to start from the lightest pastel to the darkest and blending. The main art elements are color, texture, value, and contrast. These art elements express the beauty of the valley and where I grew up.
